Beam of Hope Youth Enrichment Program was established by Rojae and Kashenna Baggo. The Baggo's have an intense passion to see youths thrive and walk confidently in their purpose, gifting and unique calling.
Kashenna Baggo is an educator who has invested over 15 years empowering youths in the academic and recreational setting. Kashenna earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and two Master of Sciences, the first in Criminal Justice and the other in Adolescent Special Education.
Kashenna began her career journey as a Youth Counselor providing emotional support to LGBT+ youths in a group home. While doing this she was also a part-time Recreation Specialist, providing tutoring services, mentorship, and a safe space for children to develop communication and team-building skills.
After completing her first degree, Kashenna invested years in the social service field as a case manager. Her first role was an advocate for families in a homeless shelter. She later transitioned to provide services to adults with persistent mental illness. Her primary duties as a mental health case manager was to assist residents in the acquisition and performance of daily living skills. Kashenna was also responsible to conduct monthly chart audits to ensure compliance with the Office of Mental Health and Office of Medicaid and Inspector General.
Her vast experiences and passion for education led Kashenna to shift gears to become a Special Education Teacher. She started her journey in the classroom as a middle school teacher and later transitioned to providing educational support and resources to high school students in a career and technical school (BOCES). Kashenna's commitment expanded beyond the classroom setting as she coached, mentored and supported students with learning disabilities in work-based learning environments.
Kashenna and her husband Rojae are fully committed to empowering youths and young adults through entrepreneurship and ministry. To date their ministry has impacted thousands.
Kashenna has authored two books and is currently in the process of writing a third book.
Rojae Baggo is a graduate from the Jamaica Police College (University of the West Indies). He is passionate about serving and empowering youths, especially boys without a present father figure.
In addition to his duties to protect and serve the citizens of Jamaica, Rojae spearheaded the daily operations of youth enrichment programs in impoverished communities. The enrichment programs provided mentorship, academic support, and a career outlet to at-risk teenagers. Rojae conducted the day-to-day affairs of the program while engaging in community outreach to secure service linkages, in-kind donations, and other resources.
While a police officer, Rojae received several awards in recognition for effective and dedicated service in the Western Kingston Division, as well as awards for conduct and assiduity. He was quickly promoted to a detective and was recognized for his efficiency in investigations. While on the fast track to becoming a police commissioner, Rojae and Kashenna got married and he migrated to the United States.
His move to the United States did not quench his passion to coach and mentor youths. Beam of Hope is his gateway to leave a long lasting impact on youths and adolescents.
Rojae and Kashenna are fully committed to empowering youths and young adults through entrepreneurship and ministry.
